Body plate
Body plate
Hey everybody,
I am looking for an early model body plate without the 2 boxes that the information was stamped in. My car is TC 1013, and I am assuming that a plate without the boxes is correct for my year vehicle. Any input would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Ron

Re: Body plate
Tim,
Thank you very much. Does my car, TC1013 require the plate without the boxes or with the boxes that have the numbers stamped within ?
Thank you,
Ron

Re: Body plate
Your TC1013 was built on 28 June 1946 for export to USA, three days after my TC0999 (home market). ID plates were stamped with the chassis and engine number. Here’s mine:

Re: Body plate
I think Ron is looking for the body number plate that gives the B280 body type, and then a unique number to the specific car. Early ones had no box outline where the numbers were stamped, and later style did. Towards the bottom of the article here:

I think the question from Ron is what the cut off date is for the early style body type/number plate?

Re: Body plate
TC0999 has the second version of the body plate described by Doug. Being made in the same week, TC1013 would almost certainly be the same.

Re: Body plate
Whilst we're on the subject of body plates has anyone got a picture of where they go. I removed mine when a rebuilt the car and can't find a picture that shows where it goes. Plenty of pictures around, but so far all are so close up they aren't showing where they go.
Hope I've made myself clear, it'll make a change if I have.

Re: Body plate
My Body Plate is missing, so how can I find out what the original Body Type and Body No. were? Any information greatly appreciated, so I can have Doug Pelton make me a new one.
Thanks!
Thanks!
