I have never found a better source for lettering the TC dash panel than Craig Seabrook of Novelty, Ohio, USA. His work is superb, and indistinguishable from the original. Press-on lettering becomes fall-off lettering after time, in my experience.

Interesting how the EXU instrument panels were originally installed with no lettering.

Any good engraver should be able to do it. My local guy made a good job.

Craig does the best work I've ever seen. I just wish his wait times weren't so long. Those of us who drive year-round and have only one TC simply can't be without a dash panel for a year.

I know, i know best, about the nice originals and silk sreening -panels etc.
Just wanted the lettering without having to dismantle the dash, probably will never get it together again:-)
1945 car came with the stick-on lettering, think one of the many PO's did that and all I am looking for are these darned stick-on things.
Anglo parts ran out and Octagon wants membership first, which is not a great deal for me, living in Hamburg with about 3/4 ? at most cars in the vicinity.
If no go, no problem, I know the functions after 35 years, bur was more for my family, as I am getting rather old.......
Thanks for all who replied

Trying to fix the lettering, on TC instrument panel, that originally was done by the silk screening process but which rubbed off over time. This photo is of the current panel lettering showing the remains of the lettering from 1979 -- that are only 2 of the knobs. (The other letters have just fallen off when touched.)

An attempt in 1985, with the clear stick-on patch, worked for awhile but then started to peel. Also the font size was too large, was mixed upper and lower case, and had the wrong wording ("Choke" instead of "MIXTURE PULL")

Found some letters that might work, so want to see what the forum thinks. Please compare the lettering of the First (1st) attempt with the Second (2nd) attempt.

Yes, these are not the best, and probably out there something can be done better, so please say what you think. However, do not want to use the process which requires removal and loss of use of the panel for an extended time.

Octagonally yours,

I've never seen any stick-on labels that looked good to me. In fact I left mine without labels at all because I dislike stickers so much. But to answer your question, I think the second attempt looks much better than the first. The less clear stuff the better. Another option would be to have a vinyl cutter make individual letters. They can be applied all at once so they are straight. Or, buy a second center console and have Craig Seabrook restore it for you, and then swap them out. That way the car isn't down while you wait.

I appreciate that to some owners and for some cars, originality is very important but I prefer not to have any lettering at all and my new TC dash panel will probably remain clear - just because I like it that way.
