Franz, look carefully, it has two flats each side for a spanner, or it should have.Fr

Hi
so today , realy bad rain outside, i had time to do the oil line,
my special tool works perfect,
i took off the oil line to change the gauge line from the top to the bottom
in the past when they had done it they took wrong banjo bolt ?

the fine banjo bolt was at the bottom , it has the round head, so i need my special tool
i put it back at this place after turn around the line
at the top at the laystall head there was the other bolt, i think not the right one, i took it again , and hope it will go.

than i start the engine,
and
big surprise, the oil pressure was 35 before change the line, now 65

so it is realy important where the oil gauge line fit, it should be at the bottom

last year i was realy afraid ....

Yes, gauges read best when close to the source.

Hi
now i know it,
but i have read a lot here and in one other forum, some people say it doesn t matter where it is.
I have the car driven 6 month, every time afraid i damage the engine,
is there sombody who knows the original thread of the banjo bolt for the laystal head. the bolt they used for my car isn t the right one. but in the moment it works, some day i will prepare the thread and take the right one.
a lot of little problems to solve before.

Hello Franz,
the original thread type in a cast irion head is metric M10 x 1 mm, so I guess the thread in a Laystall head is the same,
cheers Carl

no
it isn t the same
before the turn around it was max 38
i was in the garage 10 minutes ago, done the last work before starting
now it goes up tu 80,
nothing done else, only change from the top to the bottom of the engine, to the original position
before i fit it again, i check the pipe, it s open for the oil, nothing damaged

The physical pressure will be the same, but indicated pressure will be higher and more true to actual pressure at the lower fitting.
