If you want to run the copper wires you will need to upgrade to a more robust ignition unit with an external "box" like Crane, or run points/condenser. Pertronix/Powerspark type magnet units are inexpensive and usually work fine as long as you follow all the fine-print instructions. Things like polarity specific unit, do not leave key in ON position, and do NOT use copper wires. The carbon core wires you noted should work fine with the magnet unit, and not damage its delicate electronics.

runs perfect
with the copper wires, they are new and with silicon around
asked someone with 50 years experience, he said no problem
so we will see
a new set is not more expensive then shipping from england

so today after work i looked behind the dashboard
chaos pur....
i made a picture from the old key switch on the dash panel from behind
no wire on the IG point
i take my voltmeter to look if the switch will work
it works
i got the car without a key, but with the number on the switch i got 2 for 10 pounds.
so i took a wire to the relay in the toolbox and fixed it
now i can start the car with the key in teh old switch
one more step to an original like car ;-)
i got a old dashpanel on the bay
i took off the bad paint and cleand it perfect,
next step will be to chrome the outside it with this here,

i will see next days how it works
then paint it black or bronce
i don t like my hyzard and directionswitch below the dashboard
i don t need the fog light and the dashboard light swith on the panel.
so i want to change this

so today

so work in the garage
i take a picture from the dashboard
make a snap and load it to inkscape
i take the original dimension at the car, wide and high
in incscape i change the snap to the dimension i need
then to svg then to png
just fast and dirty but enough for me??
then look to the web how to print it
and found a program to print it as a poster in original dimension.

then I take old thin wood and cut out a half.
then the other one.
in the middle I use hot glue to join the two parts.
this is enough to make a cut, then veneer and stain and varnish
then insert the newly made middle section and so on....

so i have to think about how to fix it

I'm surprised it was accurate! Photos always have barrel distortion and perspective errors. I'm glad it worked.

so today i got the 5/16 tap to make the new special nuts for the engine mount
i make them and put all together as it should be
now i can start the engine with the handcrank
next i wanted to make a holder for the two hanhart stopwatches.
i took stainless steel, but no good idea to fix the watches
two drills are now damaged....
so i took my computer to design a holder
the first one fits not perfect, a little bit to small
the second one is in the printer for the next 2 hours.
here the 3d picture
i will fix it in the middle over the dashpanel and use the loxx fasteners which are there
so i can take them away really easy
i make them and put all together as it should be

Nice work. I would be very interested to find out how you got on with the chrome plating solution. Professional Cr(VI) plating is very expensive these days and I have quite a few small parts to plate. Cr(III) is a potential solution (sorry, bad pun), but it depends how it looks and how durable it is.

i have plated in the morning some door handle for a Ford Model A
they have been terrible, i have brought them away, so no picture in the moment
but it works perfect on brass.
i have it from tifoo.de, the electric parts from the bay
i have bought 1l but only used 10 ml or less
3 door handle

i want to have al in the same colour
so if somebody need one lid in mahagonie , ask me
i will post pictures tomorrow, after the second paint job
so i am better with freecad every day, so i designedt a new basis for the map light, i don t want to damage the old one, i got with the car, a replica i think but ...

so i will take the replica to make a hole in the top to use it as a signal lamp i have to have in the car for the TÜV
so the new base will have some new function

I'll put thin copper through the little holes to turn it on and off,
I can rotate the parts 230 degrees.
in the middle I will put 3 wires upwards.
there I will place an LED for the signal light.
and one for the card light.
it will work, I believe in my idea

You seem to share my interest in applying 21st century technology to the MG TC. Here are some things I have done to my TC: Note that these applications require the conversion of your car to negative ground.
Self-Cancelling turn signals using illuminated push buttons.
I used an existing electronic device to add self-canceling turn signals to my TC. They are actuated by LED illuminated push-buttons inserted through the dashboard's power output holes.
Our TC club, The Abingdon Rough Riders, published instructions for the installation in their May 2009 newsletter at: http://www.abingdonroughriders.org/ARR% ... 202009.pdf.
I added a Low Oil Pressure warning device. Instructions can by found in the July 1010 Abingdon Rough Riders Newsletter at: http://abingdonroughriders.org/ARR%20Ne ... 202010.pdf.
Another modern addition was the installation of reproduction 1932 Ford Tail-lights (Stainless Steel, Super-Bright LED, Brake/Tail-Light) From MAC's Auto Parts in the USA (part # 32-11957-1 $47.88).

Today classic car ralley next town, also we had to drive to my town,
the car runs absolutley perfect,
total 140 km
no problems.

will the car run the distance
also i got the 2 switches i had orderd some weeks ago,
now i will change the design of them, so they look old ;-)

so today I took the new switches I got yesterday,
I put it in the rebuilt dashboard I got from the bay.
the switches are a 2-way and a 3-way switch.
very easy to turn around
and they're not far from the original.
but
I couldn't disassemble the part to make the twist grip even more true to the original, but I have a printer ;-)
to print the middle part...
5 Euro to damage....
rebuild of the dash is in the winter, so a lot of time
the new dash map light is nearls ready, i have to wit for the micro switch in the base so time for something new
so after I've written this, 5 Minutes later
I took the switch.
I want to do i dont want to talk,
has always been my
so disassemble the switch
and it's easy to make a new button
you only need a little practice with freecad and a printer

so i try to design it by myself.
