last week, the weather wasn't so good, so I took the doors off the car.
the screws in the wood were not good, so a lot of play.
someone made them in the 80s ?
the wood is dry and good, but the shape inside the door is terrible.
after an hour of thinking I finally had a plan.
I took my welding machine and some steel and made a new part inside with thread for the new screws.
Also the diagonal wire to keep the door in shape is now there.
now the doors close perfectly
so i got one other vintage inspection lamp in the bay,
a little bit more expensive but the same,wonderful
i have to think about : polish or not polish it
one other parcel arrived today from the uk, like christmas
i got 8inch headlights at the bay with stoneguards
damaged but a good deal for me
i bought it because the rims
My headlight rims reduced the diameter from 8 to 6, so much to small when you look to the front of the car,
also i want this fantastic stoneguards, not the simple one, you know ;-)
with my hammer and some other tools i was able to prepare the headlights, so nearls nothing to seen from the damage, it was nearly 1cm down in the shell, but i have made some smart repair to my other cars in the past
the reflector is absolutly perfect, the clear glas was broken, but no problem to get new glas at the bay , the tripod inside is not damaged and will look perfect
i want to make the wiring in the winter, so i have to wait :-(
i want to change the steering, i got a perfect one some weeks ago in the bay, no play and nearly new, the play of the steering now is about 3 fingers, too much.
The screw looks to the engine, so i hope i get it out without problems.
so some more work, but the car runs perfect now and it is some much fun to drive it.
i hope no rain tomorrow, we want to drive to a classic car show

Hallo together,
next step to make the new dashboard.
There are no bulbs and holders for the instrument light
so one part will cost 9 pound,
and roayl mail expensive shipping,
so i went to my cold cellar and take some copper to make them
first cut a part copper like picture 1, take me 3 or 4 Minutes time
then a pliers to bend it
then take a grinding machine and make it round so that it fit into the copper fitting from the diy store
easy and cheap, only the screws cost me money
perhaps i will not drive the car in darkness, so never really will be used
next step to make the new dashboard.

so yesterday one more part designed, printed and painted.
not for my car,
but so fine, that i will change my choke starter and slow running knob to this design
this is printed with a FDM printer, one layer is 0,15mm thick
so you can see the groves
next days i will try my new photon printer, the layers are only 0,015 mm
it is a dlp printer, he works with light and resin
much better reolution
but no experience in the moment
the part is 2 x 2 cm
so picture much bigger, if you see it original from 50 cm you can t see the groves
not for my car,

my new printer is an resin printer
tricky but wonderful
made some more parts,
the knob in resin, you see the difference
my friend has birthday yesterday, no gift
i had the kob between the fingers
and a new idea was born
a individual ring
with Logo of MG for me
and RR + Ferrari for him
i made the design and after 5 prints for the trash it works
next day we had a party, the MG ring on my finger,
someone sees it and ask me if i can make it with the logo of his company,
no problem
some work with freecad and it was done,
now the printer nearly payed ;-)
so some more money for the MG
In th winter i get my new dashboard ( see above) ,
i will change all konbs to a identical FT design
the green resin polished is like a diamond
so if someone has an idea
ask me
i love the challenge

so after a long battel with my new printer and the black resin
it works now
also the toolbox get the new wood, it should be all the same so i change it
the dashboard is ready but will be installed in the next winter with the new electric
also i get a new gearbox stick in a wonderful wood,
difficult to make a picture.

also a MG logo on the top in black resin, just from the printer, will be painted
it is fantastic with feecad and the new printer,
now it is easy to realise my idea
the resolution is already fantastic at 0.05 with 0.025 it gets even better,
I will now digitize our family crest for a ring and try to print it
it works now

won the auction in the last second
2 weeks later the headlamps arrieved, 2 1cm deep recessin in one of the headlights
after one hours of looking arround
i take a part of wood, make it round and took a hammer
after 1 or 2 hours of work with the hammer and some other tools,
nearly nothing can be seen of the damage
so a really good deal
a part for the next winter to install
i like this 8 inch headlights with stoneguars, will give Fritzi a new look from the front
Both doors were also terrible inside.

now the doors close again perfectly and nothing wobbles
good for the next 30 years - enough for me

So the winter is coming and i have a new MG projekt for the next 2 years
The TA will b get the new dashboard and electric
also the Andre hartfort shock absorber and the new old but perfect bishop steering
all in this winter
The new old MG YA is for the next 2 years,
had mot in england and was driven until yesterday
but the owner regognised the rust beginning in the corners, so time to do something.
he is old so no work for him
seems to be matching numers ;-)
i am silly to do it, but i love it
so as the most here ?!
no TABC, i look for a forum to post more

I used to own a YB. They are great cars. I suggest you go to https://www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgytr/ for information on them. It's the center for all things Y-Type. They have a forum also that has a lot of Y-Type owners on it.

today i started winter work.
found a hydraulic switch, left side at the hight of the master cylinder.
no chance to change the wires,
the switch looks to the top, but there is the floor,
if the had cut a little hole no problem,
so i have to cut it now, but much more difficult
in the evening i study the electric wiring diagramm
all circuits i made a own diagramm, because i will change to more fuses and relays.
i orderd two parts today
KFZ Anlasser-Magnetschalter Trennrelais 12V/500A Startrelais Starter Relais DE
this i will attach near the battery in the back,
I'll control it from a remote.
433 MHz DC9V-12V 1CH drahtlose Fernbedienung Schalter Mini Relais LED-Platine
i hope it will work as i want
so i can take off the battery easyly

Today i saw that the right back tire was empty.

normally a screw is inserted from the inside to the outside, but you have to remove the rings to disassemble the grilles, not so clever, better would be a nut on the inside and then a set screw on the outside, ev I glue a nut inside in the ring
or
above there is a picture with the lamp and the grilles and teh screws

time is missing in the moment
