What is an acceptable type of fluid to use in the T-9 transmission that can be found here in the States?
Thanks,
Gene

Re: Ford T-9 transmission fluid
I seem to remember 90W, which would mean 75W-90. Any yellow metal safe gear oil should do the job nicely.

Re: Ford T-9 transmission fluid
It appears that the T9 requires a GL-4 gear oil, not GL-5. I am in Australia so not much help re US supply but Redline MT-90 75W90 GL-4 GEAR OIL is probably available (at a price!). There would be cheaper equivalents I would guess.

Hi-Gear shipped 2 qts with my trans to make sure the correct type was used. They shipped SX75W-90 GL-4, Semi Synthetic.

That is the same as supplied with my T9 box which I collected from Peter Gamble (Hi-Gear) this week.Mitchman2 wrote:Hi-Gear shipped 2 qts with my trans to make sure the correct type was used. They shipped SX75W-90 GL-4, Semi Synthetic.
