Late TD/TF Oil Pump on TC
I know the later integral oil pump and filter can be adapted to the early TC/TD blocks and in fact Moss reportedly sold a kit to do this at one point. Does anyone know if any permanent changes are made to the block and/or pump, or is the modification fully reversible?

Steve - as I remember (it's been some time since I did this, with the later spin-filter adapters so readily available):
1) remove the bypass valve from the block
2) plug the block's oil inlet where the external filter pipe attaches
3) remove the oil filter bracket, and
4) put in shorter bolts to fill the bolt holes.

Thanks Tom. I had a couple off-list replies also that coincide with what you're saying...
The can be switched either way. You have to remove the bypass valve in the block, remove the filter bracket then block the bolt holes lastly block the oil pipe hole from the filter it's 1/4 bsp then put the late pump on
I have fitted a TF oil pump to my TC..very easy and reversible. I now don't worry about oil line fractures and just use a Wolesley 4/44 filter Ryco R2058P available in Oz and hopefully in the US.
