I wouldn't cosmetically restore that car either. Just get it running and enjoy!

Agree, keep it in this state as much as possible, Our TC8204 has been restored around 1995 in the USA according to the previous owner (Bob Mendelsohn). I'm inspecting it now. Found no cracks in the two axle stubs (dye & developer method). But, instead, the right axle has been renewed. The "crack" (a thin circel where the axle is pressed into the nuckle) showed this. Indeed, via the knuckleback and take away all the old grease, one sees the axle metal and its center hole.

It got a Datsun steering box, some other items were added like an oil cooler. Front brake system completely new. Steering rod bent, tierod straight. Front springs need replacement, appear to be the original sets.

But, I want to leave it as it is, looking to cosmetics. One does see, what we call, mild patina and that suits such an old driver fine.

Not to take anything away from that lovely TC, but is that your D-Type in the background? Very nice!

yes it is Steve, according to all records held its the only D-type Salonette surviving, 15 year restoration and 99% finished.

Meanwhile, the photo's are upside after reducing memory ... but I couldnt seem to right it no matter what I do
