Fantastic car, but probably hard to take on an extended tour!

Steve, With a 12 litre v8 using 1914 carburetor technology it sucks petrol faster than your MGC with triple sidedraft Webers that is running rich

So let me think this through: You have an Amilcar car weighing 650 pounds complete with a 900cc engine, remove the drivetrain and install a 12,000cc aircraft engine weighing 800 pounds, producing 140 HP, and dare to drive it? What a snorting beast! I drove an Oldsmobile-Allard once, and it scared the pants off me. Imagine how hairy this must be!
I wonder if the Bugatti-engined MG TC written about in Road and Track still survives? I suspect the Bug engine turned out to be so much more valuable than the car, that it was removed and re-installed in a Bugatti.

Nothing sucks fuel faster than my MGC.
Tom, my old neighbor had a brass era Fiat with a Sopwith Camel engine. It would do a reported 140MPH, although he wasn't brave enough to test that.

In my dreams they have restored the Brooklands race track and beasts like this take to the banking in competition.!
