MG TC clutch return spring

Post by BASILPEA » Mon Sep 23, 2013 4:26 am

Hi All,
I have recently acquired an MG TC after 30 years with MGB's and am actively getting it back on the road. My first problem is the clutch mechanism - can anyone help with the location of the return bracket. Some say starter motor - some say sump. I am just about to buy one from Moss can someone tell me how it fits on the starter motor - thanks Bas

Bad,

There's a small bracket that gets bolted to the bottom bolt hole holding the starter motor on. The spring goes from that bracket to another bracket bolted to the front of the clutch lever at the bellhousing.

Look at "Clutch System" in the Moss catalog...brackets are #'s 32 and 34 in the picture.
