I agree with Dirk. Overfilling did not cause your breakage so don't kick yourself. If it helps, and while others may not agree, for many of us the only reason we can give advice on a particular issue is because we have made the same mistake at some time in the past. Hope your car turns up safely.

I've just had a call from the recovery insurance company who said they are using this company to bring the car home http://cmg-org.com/european-solutions/ They look rather professional :)

I've left the manual in the car together with all the tools and spare parts as I couldn't carry any of it.
