Gaskets for TC shock top covers

Post by jeffw » Wed Apr 03, 2013 12:50 pm

I am not seeing replacement gaskets at the usual suppliers for TC shock top covers... Are they available anywhere???
Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,

Try Peter Caldwell at www.nosimport.com

They rebuild the TC shocks so will surely have the gaskets.

Hi All,
I got in touch with Peter Caldwell about these as well and his response is below:

'We use RTV silicone for that gasket if the old one is no longer
useable. Usually they are.'
Peter

Hope that is of interest to the group.

Regards,

Steve

Yep he told me the same thing. RTV seem kinda hokey to me so I am working with a local graphics and model shop with laser capability and will be making some out of cork and if it will cut good a higher quality gasket material.
Cheers, Jeff

RTV may seem hokey but Peter guarantees his shocks not to leak for life so it must work well.

Would it not be possible to simply cut a gasket from paper gasket stock?
