Installing bushings on the rearend

Post by LaVerne Downey » Tue Feb 11, 2014 7:43 am

Having gotten the front end finished (bushings that is). I'm ready to move to the rear. It would appear that I will have to remove the springs from the axle. What are the chances that all the bolts there will survive for re assembly?

Any tips from those that have been there and done that?

Thanks,

LaVerne

They'll survive...the harder ones are the forward ones on the chassis...but they'll survive also. Done two different cars, had no problems with either.

Thanks Gene, I'm putting together another parts order and was wondering if I needed to throw those on the list as well.

Which bushings are you refering to. The ones the rear axle rides on in the hub or the bubber bushings on the ends of the springs???
