I am ready to start removal of rear hubs to investigate the sudden oil leak and like the idea of conversion suggested on site From The Frame Up but the problem I have is that the diff in my car is not a TC but from a later model with the ends cut off and TC mountings fitted with TC backing plates and brakes.
Problem is I would like to order all parts before work commences but are the half shafts the same on later models.
The diff looks like a TD/TF as is split design and runs as quite as a mouse, pity tail shaft is bit noisy but that now has to wait till current problem sorted out.
I still cannot fathom why so sudden as would of thought would get progresively worse over time so wondering if perhaps there is a seal fitted that has given way
With car on the ground there is no difference either side to wheel play, perhaps just a little from wheel on splines.
This is the problem when things get modified .
If anyone knows would be handy as conversion kit would have to be obtained from overseas. Photo shows diff under car and where ends joined. You can also see new brake pipes I made from steel and wound wire over to look authentic Thanks Ian

Re: TC Halfshafts
The TD/TF shafts are different, so I'm not sure what you have going on in that axle. Perhaps the TC spider gears are still in use, and the length just happens to be the same?
