Does anyone know something about PAIGE

Post by wolfgang.thaller@avl.com » Thu Jan 27, 2000 6:26 pm

Hi T-Type folks !

A friend of mine has bought a couple of years ago a PAIGE 6-65 Sedan in Canada. The car was build in the year 1927.

He has shipped the car home to Austria and has restored it for more than 8 years. Now the car is in a wonderful show room condition, but he has more or less no information about the company PAIGE, because in Europe it is really a rare type of vintage car. There is no literature available and existing about PAIGE ...

I guess in Austria there is only one PAIGE and approx. in the whole Europe three or five, I don t know. Yesterday I have tried to find some information via Internet, but it was without of success. I found one home page address with the code name GRAHAM PAIGE, but it doesn`t work on my PC.

Is there someone of you on the list who knows something about the rare cars of PAIGE ? I want to surprise my friend with some information about PAIGE, he doesn`t know that I'm looking for information.

Thank you in advance for every information about PAIGE

Cheers
Wolfgang / of course a MG - a MG TC / 4170

Wolfgang,

Take a look at this site - go on down to the Graham car section - there's an email address where you might be able to get some information.

Good luck,

My first car was a 1939 Graham - I was told that it was made by the Graham Paige Car Company, but I know nothing about it, except that it was built like a tank ! Very heavy metal construction - I think you could hit the fender with a baseball bat and it wouldn't dent. The car was big and ugly but pretty fast.

You can find information on the internet using the search engine http://www.askjeeves.com/" Ask Jeeves!

According to one souce on the web the Graham brothers purchased the Paige Motor company in 1927 and renamed the company Graham-Paige.

Isn't Graham-Paige the company that made some large touring cars that looked like locomotives for one of the Hollywood studio's? I saw one on a trailer out in the Central Valley once....a magnificent machine.
