Stub axle inserts

Post by timandgerda » Sat Jun 03, 2017 6:33 am

Hi everyone. Has anyone had the replacement stub axle inserts done in the UK? I can get them from FTFU for $55 but don't have any machining capability at home. Moss and NTG are listing as not currently available and I have a relative travelling to the US next week who could bring me some back if it looks sensible. I have only removed one so far but it looks like the bearing has been spinning on the axle at some time as there are dot punch marks where someone has tried to stop this. I can get them crack tested for free but not much point if replacement is an option. Cheers. Tim.

I had mine done by Bob Grunau in Canada. It was worth every penny. They are oversized so much stronger than the originals. I believe he will either replace the stubs in yours or send your a pair and take yours as cores.

I believe that Roger Furneaux (Mad Metrics) in the UK also makes/sells them, along with many other terrific parts.

Thanks guys. I have contacted Roger and it sounds like he can sort them out for me.
