My first ride in TC 4931 was in the summer of 1955. It was also my first MG experience. For the next 50 years I wanted to buy that TC from my uncle. Finally in February of 2004 I was able to purchase and take delivery of the car. From new the this TC has covered less than 8,000 miles. My uncle re-painted the car in 1950 because he didn't like the original Sequoia Cream. At that time the car was painted black and the surfaces under the fenders were painted red, along with the scuttle which was originally grey-green. The interior has remained red, including the original rexine facia. Weather permitting, I put a few miles on the TC every week and feel very privileged to be its custodian for the next generation of MG enthusiasts. Jim Dougherty |
